Cazzaniga & Fumagalli srl, a well-known earthmoving company located in Lecco in the north of Italy, has entrusted our VSE 30 screening bucket for screening wet vegetable soil and resulting materials from demolitions and construction sites. Sold by our local dealer Coccoli Renato from Cirimido (Como), the attachment proved to be spot on and very profitable for the Lecco-based company.
Mounted on Fiat Hitachi EX215, the VSE 30 screening bucket, 5-line hydraulic version, was equipped with mixed tools. The customer's need was twofold: on the one hand, the selection and screening of wet vegetable soil to be sold in the floriculture and private field; on the other, the need to recycle material from excavations and demolitions to be used as backfilling material.
In the first case, the average time for a complete cycle (bucket loading - screening - material unloading) varied between 45 seconds and one minute. The output size of the screened material was around 0-8 inch, for an average hourly production of 52-58 yd³/h. In the second case, the size was increased to 2,4 inch thanks to the patented quick adjustment available on the VSE screening bucket, with an average hourly production of 39-45 yd³/h.
Thanks to the instant and quick adjustment of output size, with a simple control on the cabin, the operator was able to screen the material according to his operating needs, hydraulically moving closer and moving further the shafts. This enable the operator to considerably reduce downtime due to long mechanical replacement interventions, increasing profitability and hourly productivity. Furthermore, the choice of equipping the bucket with mixed tools proved successful: the blades guaranteed a satisfactory performance even in the presence of wet material.
Simex VSE screening buckets stand out for their easy loading, simple use and high productivity. Shafts are composed of elements with varying-sized disks that produce an intense whirling of the material to be screened: effective even when working with wet material.
