Simex were participants in Steinexpo, the most important German trade fair, and a key one in Europe, for the quarrying industry. What makes Steinexpo a unique event is that it is always held outdoors, in a basalt quarry in Homberg/Nieder-Ofleiden, giving visitors the opportunity to view the capabilities of machines and equipment while they are actually at work. The trade fair, held last 30 August through 2 September, was at its tenth edition and marked the attendance of a targeted set of visitors that had no precedent: nearing 54,000 people accepted the invitation to see the products of 293 exhibitors.
Taking part as a “guest of honor” at the Liebherr stand, Simex gave a live demonstration of its attachments mounted to a Liebherr 946 excavator fitted with a Likufix SW 66 quick coupler. This enabled fast substitution between one attachment and another during all four days of the trade fair.
The company exhibited three centerpieces of its production designed also for quarrying; a TF 2100, a CBE 50 crusher bucket and a VSE 40 screening bucket represented the range at the stand of the noted German manufacturer of earthmoving machinery.
Visitors were able to observe the TF cutter head milling a block of rock, which was then crushed to a size of 0-70mm by the CBE 50, then screened by the VSE 40, which separated the material into different output sizes. The many contact requests were clear indication that our attachments met keen interest, confirming again how much the German market, where our presence continues to strengthen, appreciates our products.
